The Collective Writers

Jennifer Smith is a Bible teacher, writer, speaker, and the founding member of Create In Us Collective. She is co-owner of Create In Us Art Studio in Mount Holly, NC. Jennifer is the wife of Dusty, a pastor and church planter, and mom to three boys. Jennifer believes the hard times of life can be faced with the security and hope that come from knowing Jesus. It is her fervent prayer that Believers lean into the Word of God daily and apply its precepts to their lives. Jennifer's favorite things are good conversations with friends, being weird and not caring who knows it, and going grocery shopping without her children.

Andrea Noles is wife to Daniel and mom to her two boys, Weston and Hudson. Her days are spent creatively teaching literacy at a local elementary school and hand lettering classes at Create in Us Art Studio. She finds joy in the quiet of the morning, peace in the middle of a coffee shop, and love in studying the life of Jesus. She believes in simple obedience and most of her stories come from saying yes when she wants to say no. She is a noticer of color and kindness, of truth and beauty. Some might say she’s a dreamer, but she’s not the only one.

Heidi Ashe is wife to Chris; Mama to Eli, Luci, and Mae; full time teacher; part time chauffeur, laundry executive, dinner extraordinaire, and writer. She is a recovering perfectionist learning to embrace her people and her season. Avid fan of The Avett Brothers, children’s literature, and good barbecue. Lover of the Lord, His word and His people. Heidi is thrilled to be here at Create In Us Collective to share a tiny bit of what He shows her. 

Hannah Clements was born and raised in the Piedmont of North Carolina. She and her husband, Jake, met at Appalachian State University and have since added two crazy dogs into their family. Hannah has a heart for championing the underdog and finding His goodness in all circumstances. Hannah originally began blogging in 2016 with the hope of transparently connecting with others through sharing her journey of infertility. Hannah is a lover of long baths, dance parties, and Jesus. She is thrilled to be writing for Create in Us Collective. 

Jamie Gunter is ‘Wife’ to Eric, ‘Mama’ to Bella, Lauren, Harper, and Holden and ‘Teacher’ to amazing 4th graders. She loves all things joyful, kind, and God-breathed. Her heart is furthering the mission of Jesus to love people unconditionally and to help others see their value in Christ. After losing her precious 5 day old baby, Hayden, Jamie became passionate about treasuring the everyday and seeing the glimmer of light in darkness. She loves crisp autumn air, laughter with friends, fluffy animals, and the beauty of the written word.

Kayla Cook is an extrovert who believes there is always room at her ridiculously long dining room table.  She is wife to Garrett, mama to Selah, dog mom to Teddy and Pierre, and math teacher to middle schoolers.  She is learning that those titles are good gifts that bring her great joy, but her identity is found always and only in Jesus Christ. Kayla has good hair that can usually be found in a messy bun and loves buffalo wings, worship music, hand lettering, and Justin's dark chocolate peanut butter cups.  She has seen God's faithfulness in her own life and prays her writing can help you see His faithfulness in yours.
